Rulie C. Whiteaker



RULIE WHITEAKER


COOKEVILLE-Funeral services for Mrs. Rulie C. Whiteaker, 87, of Cookeville were held today at 11 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Sand Springs Memorial Gardens. Rev. Sterl Paramore and Rev. Carson Whiteaker officiated at the services.

Mrs. Whiteaker died Saturday September 15, 2007 in the NHC of Cookeville.

She was born September 26, 1919 in Putnam County, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late Snowden Oakley and Aldora Collins Whiteaker.

She was a member of the Cookeville Freewill Baptist Church.

She worked a number of years at Acme Boot Company. She was retired from the Putnam County School System after working in the Cafeteria at Capshaw and Northeast Elementary Schools.

She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Whiteaker, sisters, Ruby Watson and Eunce Ford; and two brothers, Cheerful Whiteaker and Carnel Whiteaker.

Mrs. Whiteaker is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Troy & Shelby Jean Whiteaker, and J. D. & Mary Jane Whiteaker all of Cookeville; three grandchildren and their spouse, Greg (Laura) Whiteaker of Hermitage, TN, Sherry (Bill) Ailor of Knoxville, Jeff D. (Karen) Whiteaker of Kingston Springs, TN; four great grandchildren, Justin and Jennifer Whiteaker, and Nicholas and Erica Whiteaker; and two brothers, Rev. Carson Whiteaker of Cookeville and William C. “Casper” Whiteaker of Yuba City, CA.

Pallbearers were Glen Whittaker, Ronnie Whiteaker, Jeff Whiteaker, Greg Whiteaker, Justin Whiteaker, Nicolas Whiteaker, and Bill Ailor.

Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
